Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visited BEML’s Aditya High-Speed Rail Complex in Bengaluru on November 1 to inspect the manufacturing progress of India’s indigenous B28 bullet train. Jointly designed by Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, and BEML, the eight-coach prototype trainsets are being developed primarily for the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor. BEML is manufacturing the trains using advanced technologies, including robotic laser welding. The B28 trainsets are designed for speeds of up to 280 kmph, with a proposed operational speed of approximately 250 kmph. The visit reviewed progress in developing India's domestic high-speed railway manufacturing capabilities.
