Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the North Bullet Train Corridor, which is planned to significantly improve high-speed connectivity across northern and eastern India. Speaking in Varanasi during the inauguration of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express, Vaishnaw said the proposed corridor would connect Delhi, Agra, Kanpur, Lucknow, Ayodhya and Varanasi, extending further to Prayagraj, Patna, Siliguri and Guwahati. The proposed high-speed rail network is expected to strengthen intercity connectivity and reduce travel times between major cities.
