Music from "In The Attic" addresses the grief that I was working through at the time - having lost my Dad in late 2020 to Covid. I put music on hold for nearly 1 and a half years then decided to start turning journal entries into music somewhere around September of 2022. These songs are close to me. Personal. I had no plan to release them to the public, but recently had a change of heart. Maybe these songs can help someone else going through loss.

After All was one of the first songs I had written in attempt at looking beyond the grief. I think I was finally starting to accept things at this point. Grief is different for all of us and there really isn't any order to the stages that we'll go through. I'm not angry anymore about my father being taken away. I've accepted that it was his time. Doesn't make it easy though. I don't think grief is something that can or should ever go away. I'll always grieve the loss of my father. The difference is, I can finally look back and smile about the good times that we had together. The traveling to gigs on the weekend. Him watching me from the audience with the biggest smile on his face. These memories help me manage the grief. Lift me out of the darkness that often tries to find its way in.
