Description
A viral video out of the United States has sparked a much bigger conversation about accountability, political radicalization, illegal immigration, and the way people respond when they are finally forced to face consequences.
In the video, a Canadian woman is accused of assaulting a teenage girl over sweatpants referencing ICE and Trump. But instead of the story ending with accountability, it quickly turned into another familiar pattern: outrage, victimhood, online fundraising, and attempts to shift sympathy away from the person who was allegedly attacked.
This is not just about one viral clip. It raises a larger question about the culture we are building.
When did people start believing that political disagreement gives them permission to put their hands on someone else? Why do so many people cry victim the moment consequences arrive? And what does it say about society when accountability is treated like oppression?
This story is uncomfortable, but it is important. Because a country that loses accountability eventually loses order.
