My New Canyon Speedmax

The new Canyon Speedmax is here.

I came over to Canyon in Germany to do some testing, get fitted, and take a first look at the new bike.

In this video, Moritz from Canyon walks us through some of the biggest changes to the new Speedmax, including the new frame design, integrated hydration and storage, cockpit adjustability, weight savings, and some of the changes that finally allow me to ride the frame size I should have been riding all along.

One of the biggest improvements for me is how much easier it is to adjust the bike. The front end can now be moved and removed much more easily for fitting, testing, and travel, and Canyon has taken a lot of what was previously only available to professional athletes and made it available on the production bike.

The previous Speedmax was already fast. This one takes that platform and makes it lighter, easier to fit, easier to adjust, and much more integrated.

Excited to get some miles on it.

The Cost of Fitness

Short | 2 months ago

For a long time, I thought easy training was a waste of time. Two hours easy on the bike? Too long to be recovery and too short to be productive. I wanted every workout to feel like it was moving the needle. The problem is, I spent years trying to reinvent ...

When Winning Becomes Your Why

Video | 3 months ago

When I first got into triathlon, my why was simple: I wanted to run as far away from my old life as possible. Over time that evolved. Then it became about winning. Becoming the best in the world. Chasing world titles. The problem is that winning isn’t fully...

8x8 Threshold Session

Video | 3 months ago

After Ironman Texas, the focus hasn’t changed. Consistency is still king. In this video I talk about training by feel, learning from Texas, why outdoor riding is different than trainer riding, hydration, fueling, and why everything has to be filtered throug...

Going Back to My Old Coach

Video | 4 months ago

After Ironman Texas I had to take a hard look at what I’m doing. A lot of what went wrong there wasn’t complicated. It was durability. It was preparation. And honestly, some of it was me trying to do everything myself when I shouldn’t have been. So I reache...

Thoughts After IRONMAN Texas

Review | 5 months ago

IRONMAN Texas was rough. I came into this race thinking I was in decent bike shape, and I found out pretty quickly that I wasn’t in as good of Ironman shape as I thought. Threshold-wise, I’m in a good place. But durability is still the limiter. That’s why w...

Start Where You Are || IRONMAN Texas Race Week

Video | 5 months ago

This run was one of my final durability sessions before race week. A lot of Ironman preparation comes down to doing work at the pace you actually need to hold on race day—not just running fast intervals and hoping they translate later. Today’s session was b...

Focus on Yourself

Video | 5 months ago

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned after 15 years in the sport: if you want your best Ironman race, you have to race your race. In this ride I talk about durability on the bike, why long rides matter more than most people think, and how chasing other a...

Consistency is King

Video | 5 months ago

30km long run today. Long slow distance is still a necessary piece of building real Ironman fitness. You don’t build confidence in one workout, and you don’t build it in one week either. It comes from months of consistency. Right now I’m about three months ...

One of the Hardest Wins of My Career | 70.3 Dallas Little Elm Recap

Guide | 6 months ago

I struggled with this post-race video more than usual. From a performance standpoint, Ironman 70.3 Dallas Little Elm wasn’t my best race. But considering everything going on at home and in preparation, this was one of the hardest wins of my career. We welco...

My Swim Benchmark Session

Guide | 6 months ago

Swim benchmark day. Nothing fancy here—just a repeatable session that helps me understand where my swim fitness is right now. One swim won’t win a race. Just like one workout won’t win a race. What matters is stacking consistent training over weeks and mont...

One Workout Won’t Win a Race || 3×5K Benchmark

Video | 6 months ago

Three by 5K at moderate intensity. Not a max effort. Not a hero session. Just something I should be able to repeat next week. One workout won’t win a race. Thirty or forty strung together in close proximity might. This run benchmark is about consistency — n...
