What's the deal with asdfland?
It’s the setting of one of Eddsworld’s most iconic episodes and it’s clearly a reference to Tomska’s asdfmovie. More specifically this design from when asdfmovie was little more than a webcomic.
TomSka was in charge of Eddsworld at the time, so it’d be easy to chalk this up to a bit of shameless self-promotion, but upon further inspection it was clearly much more than that.
Edd Gould was a fan of asdfmovie. He referenced asdfman in Eddsworld when asdf was just a small webcomic and he even wrote and recorded a silly theme tune for the character

and yet you like to read then laugh”
When asdf was turned into a webshow, Tom hired Edd to animate the second installment and you might even recognise his voice in a couple of characters, including the iconic “I Like Trains” kid

When Tom and Eddie decided to make a new Zombie Eddisode for Legacy, they wanted to set it in a themed amusement park a-la Disneyland. asdfmovie was already established in the Eddsworld canon as an in-universe franchise and asdfland already existed in the wider lore. It was a match made in heaven.
So asdfland in Fundead was more than some shameless self-promotion - it was the writers bringing back one of the oldest links in Eddsworld and asdfmovie history for one big crossover event
