Description
From the vault: Raw clip unearthed—out on the yak in Hawaii, the current was noticeably smoking (fast-moving water rushing under the kayak at high speed, creating visible turbulence and streaks on the surface). Despite the strong flow—or because of it—the fish were biting aggressively. Hooked this solid yellowfin right in the middle of it. Fast currents coincide with good bites because they concentrate baitfish, stir up nutrients from deeper layers, and create ambush points where predators like ahi can position themselves efficiently to attack passing forage. The speed of the water traveling under me was pushing everything through the zone quickly, triggering that feeding frenzy. Watch the hookup and screaming run—no edits, pure offshore intensity. Penn gear handled the drag and chaos like a champ!
