Description
Raw footage—pulling up a hard-fighting ahi from deep offshore. This is what I stay focused on when boosting: hook set locked in before the move, other lines cleared fast to avoid tangles. Biggest thing is the damashi rig (bait line)—I always have a couple plans ready to stash it quick and keep all hooks out of the way: drape it over the rod tip, clip it to the side rail, or stuff it in the rod holder. Whatever spot is fastest and safest in the moment so nothing snags the main line or hooks me when the fish thrashes. Pump the rod down to load it, drive the tip into the water for leverage, gaff or kage ready on deck before the fish gets close, eyes on trailing sharks or predators. If a shark shows, toss dead bait away to distract it or let the tuna run again until it loses interest. No overthinking—just execute, stay calm, and get the fish on deck. Watch the full boost, the line-clearing focus, and the land—no edits, pure yak grind!
