Description
This is the fourth episode of "aquatic ecological succession inside" where we look at what happens when you fill an aquarium with nothing but water. In this video we will see the events that took place during the first seven months of its life. Some organic matter fell in in the form of small insects, and pioneer bacteria and ciliate species appeared. Dead organisms are decomposing faster and there are now actual animals in the ecosystem: nematodes. Slowly the ecosystem is working its way through the different states of succession, and in this episode we see the emergence of a new microbe species: rotifers!
Enjoy!
