Description
This video shows the 4 year progression of the closed ecosystem containing fruit flies. This self sustaining terrarium initially contained the fruit fly species Drosophila melanogaster and the plant species Iresine herbstii (bloodleaf) and Coffea arabica (coffee plant). In this four year update video we see how this self sufficient ecosystem developed, and how its inhabitants fared. We see the rise and fall in fruit fly population, as well as the appearance of new species like moss, springtails, rotifers and mites.
