▶️ The final puzzles come with a strategy of deliberately choosing the wrong answer first, which works about as often as it deserves to. A door is gated behind a steam machine, for a thousand dollars. A ladle nearly delivers third-degree burns before the game lets go. Then the ending simply stops, resolving nothing, teeing up a sequel that was never made. The real payoff is the making-of reel: real actors, real footage, real digital compositing, and two people quietly agreeing that they do not, in fact, make them like this anymore. a swamp, a seance, and a soul still unsaved.

Hidden Object Adventure | The fourth entry in Big Fish Games' long-running Haunted Hotel series, and the last one built by Specialbit Studio before Elephant Games took the series over. Released in 2012 and loosely adapted from H.P. Lovecraft's novella "The Case of Charles Dexter Ward," it follows a woman hunting for her missing twin, Charles, whose only trace is a necklace he never removed and a swampland address. The trail leads to an abandoned hotel, a centuries-old necromancer, and the Necronomicon. It is known for its live-action cutscenes, filmed with real actors and finished with digital effects.
