Description
What does it take to keep a Military Working Dog team ready for the unexpected? 🐶
Handlers and dogs from No. 23 Squadron’s Security Forces Military Working Dog Section came together at RAAF Base Amberley for a dedicated training week focused on realistic operational scenarios. Training included urban clearance, bite serials, blank firing, group obedience and winching, as well as helicopter exposure to condition the dogs for unfamiliar environments.
Military Working Dog handler Leading Aircraftman Max Turnbull explains how the teams train, why realistic scenarios matter and why trust between handler and dog is at the heart of the capability.
