Description
Past and present members of No. 37 Squadron recently came together in Richmond, to celebrate 60 years of continuous No. 37 Squadron C-130 Hercules operations at RAAF Base Richmond and more than 500,000 Hercules flight hours under No. 37 Squadron.
Since the first C-130E Hercules arrived at Richmond in August 1966, the aircraft has played a vital role in supporting Australians and communities around the world. From humanitarian assistance and disaster relief to tactical airlift, aeromedical evacuation and military operations, the Hercules has continued to deliver wherever and whenever it is needed.
The milestone is a testament to the thousands of aircrew, engineers, technicians, logisticians, suppliers, personnel capability specialists, operations officers, and civilian contractors who have contributed to the Hercules legacy over the past six decades at No. 37 Squadron.
Here’s to 60 years of Hercules operations, 500,000 flight hours and the people behind every mission at No. 37 Squadron.
