If you're connecting through Vienna Airport (VIE), what is the transfer process really like? In this video, we take you along on our international flight connection at Vienna Airport after arriving on an Austrian Airlines flight from Heraklion, Greece, and connecting onwards to Copenhagen, Denmark.
Our journey begins as we disembark the aircraft onto the apron, where a waiting airport bus transports passengers from the plane to the terminal building. Once inside Vienna Airport, our first stop is the Flight Departures information board to check the departure details for our next Austrian Airlines flight to Copenhagen. Although the exact gate had not yet been announced, we were able to find the departure area and prepare for our connection through the airport.
Because we are travelling between two European Union countries, Greece and Denmark, we do not need to pass through passport control, immigration, or security screening during this transfer. Once the gate number is displayed, we take you with us on the walk through Vienna Airport to our departure gate.
