Is this Cape Town’s ultimate hidden gem? 🇿🇦 Join us as we head just outside the main city center to Newlands for a late pub lunch at Foresters Arms—affectionately known to locals as "Forries"!
While tourists often stick to the usual waterfront spots, Forries is a must-visit Cape Town attraction in its own right. In the video, Maxi mentions that it’s the oldest pub in South Africa—he was a bit mistaken, but it IS one of South Africa's oldest pubs, dating back to 1852! It’s packed with old-world charm, a famous leafy beer garden, and a great selection of draught beers on tap.
After spending our morning exploring the gorgeous Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, we took a quick, easy UBER ride straight to Forries. We arrived just in time for a relaxing late lunch in the garden—Maxi ordered the juicy Rump Steak, while Maro enjoyed the Aged Sirloin!
