Advert Kawa Sushi & Hotpot Virum - Last weekend, we were invited to Kawa Sushi & Hotpot in Virum—just a short drive from Lyngby and right near Frilandsmuseet (The Open Air Museum)—to experience their expansive Sushi, Hot Pot & Dessert Ad Libitum concept!
We kicked things off with local Japanese soft drinks while browsing their easy-to-use tablet ordering system, where every dish is pictured. Everything is made to order by trained chefs, ensuring 100% freshness. We started with freshly prepared sushi and yakitori sticks—Maxi enjoyed a Japanese beer while Maro opted for an alcohol-free alternative.
Next up was the interactive Hot Pot experience! We headed to the food counter to fill our bowls with fresh seafood, vegetables, and quality ingredients to cook at the table, paired with our own custom-mixed dipping sauces from over 10 options. Dividing our ingredients between a spicy broth and a mild broth made the meal so cozy and fun. We wrapped up our evening with a sweet bowl of ice cream from their dessert buffet!
Whether you arrive by car or public transport, this spot combines the best of Japanese and Chinese cuisine into a fantastic, social dining experience. Highly recommended for all sushi and hot pot lovers!
