Description
Hugh Roberts had one trainer his entire life.
Two weeks during his senior year of high school.
That is it.
For the last six years of his eleven-year pro career, he woke up at seven, got to the field by seven-thirty, and trained alone for forty-five minutes before team practice even started.
After practice, he stayed and trained more.
In the offseason, he put cones down alone and worked his touch for an hour a day.
He switched from striker to center back in his sophomore year of college and turned pro two years later at a position he had never played growing up.
