Description
This patient had never had his ears cleaned before, and both sides were completely blocked — one turned out to be one of the most stubborn plugs we've dealt with in a long time.
Working right at the entrance of the canal, the wax simply refused to detach even with olive oil worked underneath it — it took three separate attempts and a week of sodium bicarbonate softening between visits to finally shift it. The second ear proved just as tough, but eventually turned and pulled free cleanly. The patient left hearing significantly better on both sides, with the easier ear giving the clearest improvement of the two.
