The Pedicure Controversy No One in the Nail Industry Wants to Discuss
Can damaged, discolored, thick, or lifted toenails improve with consistent at-home care?

Client Series Playlist of Visits: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRmLY0oS8NS4

In today’s video, you’ll see this client’s incredible toenail progress and learn what she has been doing between her professional pedicure appointments to improve the appearance and condition of her nails.
While I complete her detailed pedicure, I am also addressing a topic that has created unnecessary controversy in the nail industry: wet pedicures versus dry pedicures.

I regularly receive unsolicited messages from consumers who are disappointed after receiving pedicure services that felt cold, clinical, rushed, uncomfortable, or very different from the relaxing cosmetic pedicure they expected. Many ask why their feet were not soaked and why they were told that water is dangerous.

There is more than one way to perform a cosmetic service, but client comfort, expectations, satisfaction, and retention still matter.

In this video, I discuss:
• Why I continue to soak my clients’ feet
• What consumers have told me about dry pedicure experiences
• Why a thorough pedicure does not need to imitate medical care
• The importance of staying within a nail technician’s cosmetic scope of practice
• How misleading medical terminology can attract regulatory scrutiny
• Why cosmetic professionals should be proud of their profession
• What clients are actually asking for from a pedicure
• The at-home habits that supported this client’s toenail progress
• Her dramatic before-and-after toenail transformation

My position has never been that my way is the only way. I teach the techniques that have helped me build a successful company, retain clients, and produce the cosmetic results people travel to receive.

Nail technicians do not need to present themselves as healthcare providers to deliver extraordinary cosmetic foot and nail care. Master your profession, provide a comfortable experience, follow your licensing regulations, and earn your clients’ trust through excellent service.

Please tell me in the comments:
Do you prefer having your feet soaked during a pedicure?
Have you ever received a dry pedicure?
What do you think about her toenail progress?
