କୋରାପୁଟ ଜିଲ୍ଲାର ନନ୍ଦପୁର ବ୍ଲକ୍ ଅନ୍ତର୍ଗତ ବଞ୍ଜଳାପୁଟ ଗ୍ରାମର ୭୨ ବର୍ଷୀୟ ବିଚିତ୍ରାନନ୍ଦ ପଣ୍ଡା ଗତ ୧୬ ବର୍ଷ ଧରି ନିଶାମୁକ୍ତ ସମାଜ ଗଢ଼ିବା ପାଇଁ ନିରନ୍ତର କାମ କରୁଛନ୍ତି।
ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ସେ ବଞ୍ଜଳାପୁଟରେ ଏକ ଜଳଖିଆ ଦୋକାନ ଚଳାଉଥିବା ସତ୍ତ୍ୱେ, ସମୟ କାଢ଼ି କୋରାପୁଟର ବିଭିନ୍ନ ଗ୍ରାମକୁ ଯାଇ ବୈଠକ, ପରାମର୍ଶ ଶିବିର ଏବଂ ସଚେତନତା କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ରମ ମାଧ୍ୟମରେ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ନିଶାର କୁପ୍ରଭାବ ବିଷୟରେ ସଚେତନ କରୁଛନ୍ତି।
ତାଙ୍କର ନିରନ୍ତର ପ୍ରୟାସରେ ୨୦୦୦ରୁ ଅଧିକ ଲୋକ ନିଶାମୁକ୍ତ ହୋଇଥିବା କୁହାଯାଉଛି। ସମାଜ ପ୍ରତି ତାଙ୍କର ଅବଦାନ ପାଇଁ ସେ ୩୦୦ରୁ ଅଧିକ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ସମ୍ମାନିତ ହୋଇଥିବା ସହ "ଓଡ଼ିଶା ସିଟିଜେନ୍ ଆୱାର୍ଡ" ମଧ୍ୟ ପାଇଛନ୍ତି।
ବିଚିତ୍ରାନନ୍ଦ ପଣ୍ଡା ଜଣେ କବି, ଗଳ୍ପକାର, ନାଟ୍ୟକାର ଓ ସ୍ୱେଚ୍ଛାସେବୀ ସମାଜସେବୀ ଭାବରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ପରିଚିତ। ତାଙ୍କ ଜୀବନ ଦେଖାଏ ଯେ, ଦୃଢ଼ ସଂକଳ୍ପ ଓ ସମାଜ ପ୍ରତି ସମର୍ପଣ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଅନେକ ଜୀବନରେ ସକାରାତ୍ମକ ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ ଆଣିହେବ।
Bichitrananda Panda, a 72-year-old resident of Banjalaput village in Nandapur block, Koraput district, has spent the last 16 years raising awareness about the harmful effects of alcohol addiction.
While running a small breakfast shop, he regularly visits villages across Koraput district, organising community meetings and counselling sessions to encourage people to overcome addiction through awareness and dialogue.
According to local accounts, his sustained efforts have helped more than 2,000 people give up addiction. In recognition of his contribution, he has been honoured at over 300 events and has also received the Odisha Citizen Award.
Beyond his social work, Bichitrananda Panda is also known as a poet, storyteller, playwright, and voluntary social worker. His journey is an inspiring example of how one person's dedication can create lasting positive change in society.
