Hailstorms, Erratic Rain, and Low Yields Threaten Kashmir’s Mustard Fields

VideoVolunteers Video 2 days ago

Description

Growers argue that canal water can wash away freshly sown mustard seeds, affecting germination and lowering yields.

While they depend on favourable weather for cultivation, farmers also face recurring threats from hailstorms, erratic rainfall, and low productivity, often without adequate support. They are now urging authorities to adopt crop-specific irrigation practices and strengthen relief measures during weather-related emergencies to protect their livelihoods and sustain mustard cultivation in the region.
