Scripture is a gift from the Most High that keeps on giving. But it can do more harm than good if it is not read with prayer, fasting, and a humble and contrite heart.
And no matter what their good intentions are, a person can be deceived if they only have a portion of the inspired word.
This is why it is important that we test the doctrine of men and use critical thinking to discern if what is being taught in churches is really of and from the Holy Spirit.
There is much more to the inspired word than what is found in the Protestant and Catholic bibles. And what a person does not know, or is lacking, may be the cause and reason for them being counted among the goats and tares on judgement day.
The apocrypha, the Dead Sea Scrolls, Enoch, Jubilees, Shepherd of Hermas, and Clementines Homilies are just a few examples of inspired writings that all believers should be studying.
