Description
The movie Hacksaw Ridge tells the true story of Pfc. Desmond T. Doss (Andrew Garfield), who won the Congressional Medal of Honor despite refusing to bear arms during WWII on religious grounds. Doss was drafted and ostracized by fellow soldiers for his pacifist stance but went on to earn respect and adoration for his bravery, selflessness and compassion after he risked his life -- without firing a shot -- to save 75 men in the Battle of Okinawa.
Far too many Christians, unfortunately, look to fictional characters like Rambo to get their inspiration. And, consequently, the USA is experiencing an ever increasing number of mass shootings in addition to many other gun related crimes.
The fear that many US citizens live in is not normal, as it is not something people living in other industrialized nations have to deal with where they have common sense gun control. And as the saying goes - nothing changes if nothing changes.
