The Freaky Buds were formed in Nantes, France in 2018, without its members realising it. Max, Thomas and Hugo often get together to play the Blues they've been loving forever. Soon, the desire to write, compose and add a part of themselves to the music they are so dedicated to, get as urgent as the will to perform live. Fast forward to 2019, with the arrival of Lonj, who gives them new horizons. His guitar, at the service of constantly evolving originals songs, brings a powerful sound to rock-solid riffs and hypnotic grooves.
The Freaky Buds have their roots deeply embedded in the classics of electric Blues, from R.L Burnside to Magic Sam, mixed with more modern and definitely more Rock music such as The Black Keys, The Dead Weathers or Rival Sons. The band has kept an original line-up, without a bass player, direct hommage to their roots Blues influences.
On stage, the four become one, and recreate the atmsophere of the Mississippi Juke Joints: something raw and timeless music played with improvisation and energy.
