Born out of southeast Michigan, The Firefolk's eclectic sound spans from organic stomping folk to vocal piled indie rock, infused with bright keys and rumbling rhythms.
The Firefolk began in 2019 while lead singer and primary songwriter Evan Charles was attending university in Detroit. Through a Craigslist ad, Charles met keyboardist and songwriter Joshua Ruhl and set off on recording songs for release with a lineup rounded out by bassist Tony Laux, and drummer Hailey Kline. After their first gig in 2020, the world came to a grinding halt and the band entered a transformative period.
