Description
Teatro Metropolitano José Gutiérrez Gómez and Centro Cívico Plaza de la Libertad reflect two approaches to civic architecture in Medellín. The theater is defined by exposed brick, concrete, and a symmetrical composition organized around its performance spaces, while Plaza de la Libertad reinterprets patios, terraces, bridges, and balconies within a tropical complex where vegetation and public space become part of the architecture.
Together, they show how cultural and institutional buildings can respond differently to the city while creating spaces for gathering and public life.
