Description
Short short project: Sweet Melody
Do you ever dream of tasting music? What could each mesmerizing note taste like? Gino Penguino, the maestro pianist, has the answer to your questions. He performs with his band, Louis the elephant and Henry the mink at a jazz café. Their grand performance serves live music that turns into delicious cakes and sweets through a swirl of colors and lights. His magical talents are sure to impress anyone but the ever-expecting audience would frighten even the most talented musicians. Through this story we can follow Gino as he overcomes his doubts and stage fright. Even the hardiest guests’ frown turns into a smile when they get their desired sweets through the flow of melody. Both we and his audience get immersed in his performance note by note and by each crumb of the cakes. At the highpoint of the performance the whole café gets swept up in the party and it turns into a dreamlike wonderland of sweet jazz music and beautiful melodic food.

About the Short, Short film project
Sweet Melody is part of The Short, Short film project. They are created by teams of 1st year Bachelor in Animation students of Character Animators and CG Artists. Over the course of 5 weeks, the students create lighthearted films for a pre-school audience at the core of the story. They are assigned two specific styles to mash up, as well as a number of keywords to base the narrative on – ranging from colors and emotions to more complex concepts.
