Harry M. Jansen Kraemer, Jr. is a Clinical Professor of Leadership at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and the former Chairman and CEO of Baxter International Inc., a $12 billion global healthcare leader.

Harry’s professional journey began at Baxter in 1982, where he climbed the ranks from director of corporate development to CEO and Chairman of the Board. Over a 23-year career, he led global operations, spearheaded financial and strategic growth, and shaped the company’s expansion into Renal and Medication Delivery sectors.
Before Baxter, he worked with Bank of America and Northwest Industries, building his foundation in corporate banking and business development.
An active leader in business, education, and civic life, Harry serves on the boards of Leidos Corporation, Option Care Health, and Performance Health.
He also holds trustee roles at Northwestern University, The Conference Board, Endeavor Health System, and the Archdiocese of Chicago.
He is a member of the Dean’s Global Advisory Board at Kellogg and belongs to prestigious circles including the Council of CEOs, the Commercial Club of Chicago, and the Economics Club of Chicago.
Harry holds a BA in mathematics and economics from Lawrence University, where he graduated summa cum laude, and an MBA from Kellogg. He is also a certified public accountant and a recipient of Kellogg’s Schaffner Award for outstanding leadership.
He enjoys jogging, tennis, skiing, and reading about world civilizations. Harry lives in Wilmette, Illinois with his wife Julie and their five children.
