Most people, after a life of achievement, would choose retirement. Comfort. Distance from the world’s chaos.
But Mitzi didn’t.
In the last few years alone, she’s written more than 280 frontline reports from Ukraine, often under missile fire. She’s helped raise millions of dollars for humanitarian causes. She’s spoken to audiences in over 40 countries, and her words have reached tens of millions worldwide.
She could have stepped back. Instead, she stepped deeper into war zones, into the fight against human trafficking, into spaces where silence was easier but service was needed.
That’s what makes her story so powerful. It’s not about what she inherited. It’s about what she chose to become.
And it’s also how AI brought us together.
Mitzi was recently awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the American Society of AI, where I serve as a board member. That’s where I had the privilege of meeting her and hearing her vision firsthand.
