Today I’m taking Ellie from the YouTube channel @miss UK mudlarking for the very first time! Ellie recently acquired her mudlarking permit from the Port of London Authority after a very long wait!
Ellie is much more used to searching fields with a metal detector, so this was a completely new kind of treasure hunt for her. We headed down onto the foreshore in central London to see what history the River Thames might reveal.
Would Ellie enjoy her first mudlark—and what would we find hidden among the stones and mud?
Please remember that a permit is required to search the Thames foreshore, and all finds must be reported where appropriate.
