Description
In this special midweek film, I share the story of an old Hohner harmonica I found whilst mudlarking. It was broken, muddy and silent when it came out of the mud — but because a harmonica is an object made for breath and music, I couldn’t stop wondering whether it might ever play again.
After having it carefully restored by amazing harmonica restorer John Cook @johncook9040 I took it to blues musician and artist Errol Linton, who very kindly agreed to play it and give this lost little instrument a voice once more.
This video follows the journey of the harmonica from the mud, through restoration, to music — and also includes a short interview with Errol Linton about his music, influences and artwork.
You can find Errol's contact and social media details here. We are doing a giveaway of 3 CDs of his most recent album (Break the Seal) so dont forget to enter that.

A huge thank you to Errol for being part of this film, and to everyone involved in helping bring this wonderful little object back to life. Special thanks to Aad @MudBagger406406406 , John Cook for doing such an amazing restoration job and for sending it back to me in a beautiful new box! And special thanks to Kenrick Rowe for the support making this video - camera work, filming and connecting me with Errol.
