Description
Sacramento Regional Transit light rail trains across the system and county in the month of October 2026 for the monthly light rail update compilation.
This month, the Green Line has returned to service on Oct 12th, 2026 after temporarily being suspended back on June 16th, 2025 for construction on rebuilding the track into a street running track along 7th Street and also for construction on the new 7th & Railyards Station which had its grand opening on Oct 15th 3 days after the reopening of the Green Line but I accidentally counted 4 days in the video when I made this. The 7th & Railyards Station on the Green Line opened two weeks after the new Dos Rios Station had opened on the Blue Line. I also got the new train announcements for both stations. The 7th & Railyards Station is the first station on the system to be built without mini-hi ramps.
On the Blue Line, there was a planned service disruption this month between Oct 8th - 14th from the City College to Florin Stations for construction work on converting the platforms at Fruitridge raising them to support low floor trains. In the month of November, Broadway is next with a 13th Street to City College bus bridge. Not sure if they are going to suspend the Green Line again during this period for Blue Line trains to utilize the 13th Street crossover or they are just going to run the Green Lien anyways with some delays from the multi line crossover use at 13th Street.
Also, SACRT released two more brand new Siemens S700 cars number 439 and 440 into service at the end of the month. These are cars 2 and 3 of batch 4 released skipping over car ⁴38 for some reason. Maybe the car needs extensive testing. It could be released with car ⁴41 either next month or beginning of next year.
