It has remained secret up until this time because Jim was worried that if it was posted publicly, the FAA might discover it and take action to suspend his pilot's license.
Well I regret to inform you that Jim has since passed away.
He was my friend, my flying buddy, my mentor, and he had been a long time fixture at Daniel's Field having hangared there for several decades.
Since he is now deceased and safe from any kind of punitive FAA actions, I have made the decision to release this footage.
Many of my subscribers will recognize Jim's big yellow airplane immediately.
Jim and his magnificent flying machine have appeared multiple times over the past several years in many of my uploaded videos.
I am very sad that he is gone. I miss him tremendously. I miss our flying adventures.
I will talk later about how Jim died, the circumstances of his death, and what became of his beloved aircraft.
