This is the first of a few stories of Randy’s friend and mentor, Les Bowman. Randy has a plethora of Les Bowman stories, some that he has already shared here in the midst of other videos. Without Les’s influence, Randy may not have taken the course in his life that he did.
Sit back and enjoy. Just know, that at about 6.5 minutes in, Randy gets a bit choked up. Cathy, editor, left it in, though there is “dead” space. It is a tribute to Les’s influence on his life that speaks volumes in silence.

Les Bowman was not only well known for his expertise in the firearms industry, he was also mechanical engineer, designed air craft engines, 3-cyclinder engine, if memory serves, for Kineer Aircraft. He also flew around the country, alone and with his wife Marty, later with daughter Larnie. In the 40’s he flew around the country selling aircraft to large property owners.
He was an outfitter in the Cody, WY area in the Thoroughfare, some of the premier [at the time] big game hunting areas.
