In the summer of 1990 Randy and Cathy went to visit Les and Martie Bowman and their daughter, Larnie Allen, in NM. In that visit, Les gifted a rifle to Cathy that he wanted Randy to use to build her a custom rifle. Randy tells of that encounter, getting a bit emotional in the telling. Memories of Les can do that.
Randy made a beautiful fiddleback maple thumbhole stocked 6mm-.284 rifle for Cathy that she has used ever since to kill her antelope.
In every hunt we go on with Old Meat in the Pot, the spirit of Les is with us.
