Description
OHCR 8702 works an industry at Leadville Junction in Youngstown Ohio. Google maps says the industry is International Steel. Leadville Junction is the crossing of the Youngtown Belt / Youngstown & Austintown and the NS Lordstown secondary. The YBRR line ends right ahead of the engines. The bridge over the Mahoning River ahead of them was removed years ago. When the OHCR needs to access the Y&A side the use their CSX connection.
Another OHCR crew with 2162 leading assisted the 8702 to the north side of Youngstown saving the crew a long shove move. Then the 8702 got onto the NS Lordstown sub to head south. 2162 pulled some cars from Kenilworth Steel. We followed 8702 south to downtown Youngstown to catch them from the side of MLK Blvd and then crossing the CSX at Center St. They got off the NS at Struthers, ran around the train by bridge st and worked their tank car customer in the Castlo Industrial park.
