Description
On November 11, 2025 at about 9:00 PM PST, UFO Seekers captured a rare red aurora over Pahrump, Nevada, facing northeast toward the Spring Mountains and Mt. Stirling. During a powerful geomagnetic storm, the northern lights pushed far south—bright enough for cameras to record both red aurora and subtle green aurora along the horizon.
The sky was partly cloudy, with clouds moving rapidly east to west. The aurora becomes visible only during the short breaks in the clouds, creating a surreal time-lapse effect. The lights of Las Vegas can be seen glowing to the right (south) of the red aurora.
This footage was recorded at 1/4 shutter speed, then edited into fast, short clips to reveal cloud movement and highlight the aurora colors hidden within the long exposure. 14 minutes of total footage. Red auroras are extremely rare at Nevada’s latitude and usually occur only during intense geomagnetic storms when high-altitude oxygen becomes energized over 200 miles above Earth.
