Tonight we captured a large bright object on infrared night vision video appearing to follow a Boeing 737 operated by Southwest Airlines (N8963Q) from Reno to Las Vegas as it was flying over Pahrump, Nevada. We tried to follow the object and aircraft, but they were both directly overhead. The object was visible near the aircraft and raises questions about what was flying in the same airspace.
