A Jackson County grand jury has declined to indict anyone in connection with the death of 18-year-old Nolan Xavier Wells. The grand jury returned a No True Bill after reviewing testimony from 43 witnesses, digital evidence, GPS data, surveillance footage, cellphone reports and both forensic examinations.
In this video, we break down the newly released grand-jury report—including previously undisclosed information about bruising on Nolan’s head, buttocks and shoulder; the claim that Nolan purchased alcohol using a fake ID; the Sea Tow recording; the boats’ movements; and why Nolan’s official cause and manner of death remain undetermined.
Although the report clears the individuals who traveled to and from Horn Island of criminal conduct, serious questions remain: When did Nolan enter the water? Why did no one see what happened? Why didn’t his body appear sooner? And does this report truly explain how an 18-year-old disappeared from an island crowded with people?
The grand jury’s findings, public claims and my personal commentary are clearly distinguished throughout this video. No individual should be threatened or harassed because of this coverage.
What do you believe happened to Nolan Wells? Does this report provide answers—or raise even more questions?
