Now we're in ancient times. This isn't an open world zone to explore, it's pretty much just two missions back to back. I think the only thing really unique here are the Sentries, the stone warrior enemies that are reused in all Nioh games and even Wo Long.

The boss here is Kusanagi, corrupted. Himiko is also corrupted and fighting alongside him. Himiko is the same person Naotora, and also Shizuka, that we've encountered throughout the game. Himiko is her real name and the one the game sticks with from here on. They really seemed to like this girl because she's the one constant, she's in every timeline. Just a shame she's so damn boring and the game really tries to force you to care about her. And I do mean force, they have a time where you and her get close and look away blushing later on, like you're into each other.

It's not even like she does anything bad per say, it just makes you go "ugh, you again?" when you could have otherwise been interacting with someone more interesting. Also, the game does everyhting it can to talk about how great she is in every timeline. There's tons of spirits that talk about how great Naotora is in Iinoya, Yoshitsune and Kurama Tengu talk about how great she is all through the Genji zone, and spoilers, it's going to keep happening through all the other areas. This is the only area it doesn't happen as much, and that's because there's no one else to even interact with, all other humans we meet here we immediately try to kill.

Apparently she's modeled after her Japanese actress, so it really just feels like they gave her a ton of favoritism because they paid big bucks to have her here, but man I wish they just...didn't. Honestly it makes her face feel off when hers is the only one I can pinpoint as belonging to a real person.
