We finally got to see the Moana live-action adaptation! We loved the energy, The Rock was fantastic, and it definitely had its moments, but... we have thoughts on the casting and overall execution.
In this review, we’re breaking down what worked, what didn’t, and why this adaptation felt a bit different than the live-action The Little Mermaid or Lilo & Stitch. From the cinematography to the cast design choices (we really need to talk about the hair!), we're pouring the TEA on whether this movie hit the mark or missed the boat.
We really wanted to love every part of this, but whoever directed and cast The Little Mermaid might have been the missing ingredient here.
