देशभर गाजत असलेल्या कथित NEET पेपरफुटी प्रकरणावरून सुरू झालेलं आंदोलन आता निर्णायक टप्प्यावर पोहोचलं आहे. कॉक्रोज जनता पार्टी (CJP)च्या नेतृत्वाखाली सुरू झालेल्या या आंदोलनाला पर्यावरणवादी आणि शिक्षण सुधारक सोनम वांगचुक यांच्या उपोषणामुळे देशव्यापी स्वरूप प्राप्त झालं. मात्र, दिल्लीतील जंतर-मंतर येथे आंदोलक विद्यार्थ्यांवर झालेल्या पोलिसांच्या लाठीचार्जनंतर या आंदोलनाने नवं राजकीय वळण घेतलं आहे.
लाठीचार्जच्या निषेधार्थ विरोधकांनी केंद्र सरकारवर जोरदार टीका केली असून काँग्रेसने केंद्रीय शिक्षणमंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान यांच्या राजीनाम्याची मागणी अधिक आक्रमकपणे लावून धरली आहे. लोकसभेचे विरोधी पक्षनेते राहुल गांधी यांनीही पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांच्या निवासस्थानाबाहेर धरणे आंदोलन करत सरकारला लक्ष्य केलं.
