Mammotion Luba 3: What's New, What's Better, and What Still Tears Up Your Lawn

Description

I've run every generation of Mammotion's Luba mowers — the original, the Luba 2, and now the Luba 3 AWD. This isn't a first-impression unboxing. It's what the Luba 3 is actually like to live with on a lawn that's genuinely difficult: rock walls, multiple driveways, heavy tree cover and patchy satellite reception.

The Luba 3 brings a 360-degree LIDAR dome, Network RTK positioning (no more antenna installs), doubled AI processing power and a no-cross line feature I've been asking for since day one. Some of that works really well. Some of it created new problems I wasn't expecting — including lawn damage that was actually worse than the Luba 2 out of the box. I cover what's improved, what still annoys me, a proper installation blunder that even Mammotion's own support couldn't diagnose, and who should actually buy one of these versus who should save their money.

One important note before you shop: the cheapest model, the 1500, doesn't get Net RTK. The full navigation stack is only on the 3000 and 5000. Don't assume they all behave the same — they don't.
