Forbes Fintech 50 List Has 6 Blockchain Companies In 2020
Forbes released its Fintech 50 list in recent days, which included six blockchain companies among the media outlet’s compilation of top financial technology companies. Carrying a “Blockchain and Bitcoin” category tag, Forbes listed Axoni, Chainalysis, Coinbase, Everledger, MakerDao and Ripple amongst its top 50 fintech list for 2020. Other contenders on the list included companies such as Plaid, Opendoor and Lemonade, categorized under payments, real estate and insurance respectively.
Goldman Sachs Crypto Platform Sells Off Part Of Business
Even with ongoing bullish movement in crypto markets, Circle continues to sell off parts of its business. Circle, a Goldman Sachs-backed crypto startup that launched USD-pegged stablecoin USDC, has agreed to sell its digital asset investment app Circle Invest to Voyager Digital Canada, the operator of digital asset broker Voyager.
UK Crypto Lending Platform Working WIth US Crypto Company
UK-based crypto lending and liquidity provider B2C2 is teaming up with SFOX, a leading U.S. crypto company serving institutional investors. This partnership is aimed at letting SFOX clients (including asset managers, family offices and high net worth individuals) access B2C2’s large liquidity pools and better-priced over-the-counter (OTC) markets though a single point of entry.
Coinbase Pro Offers x3 Leverage On Platform
Coinbase Pro, the cryptocurrency trading platform arm of U.S.-based exchange Coinbase, has unveiled 3x margin trading for select customers. They have said that their leverage multiple is based on market analysis. They went on to say that they are rolling this out in a way that we feel is responsible to our customers while offering them an adequate amount of leverage to trade on. Coinbase Pro hosts a modest 3x leverage limit, whereas exchanges such as BitMEX and Binance offer 100x leverage and up.
Tow Letter Bombs Go Off In Netherlands, Criminal Asks for BTC
Two-letter bombs exploded in the Netherlands this week and an anonymous criminal is asking for a Bitcoin payment to prevent future attacks. The first bomb went off at a postal sorting office in a bank in Amsterdam yesterday morning. The letter bomb exploded moments after a mailroom worker tossed away the package. “The colleague who was sorting the mail heard a hissing sound and threw the package away. The second explosion came less than an hour later in a border town called Kerkrade. The package was mailed to a local business.
