When someone asks me what my favourite dance style is, I reply "movement" and "connection."
And sure, I have preferences at moments, depending on the music, the partner, where I am within, which is the advantage of being trained in various styles, like a vast vocabulary giving do many many possibilities for a great conversation.
Lately, the collaborations I'm having and the wonderful dancers I'm meeting are bringing out rich creativity and new openness, like the amazing Genevive Kayra.
In this one, we explored the vulnerability of the song lyrics and how does it expresses through the body.
Once we let go of any ideas, styles, or what should be or happen during a dance, something new can awaken, and real connection can emerge.
