Norwegian folk song, its about a young woman named Kjersti and a elf king.
Kjersti is ‘lured’/seduced by the Elf King and has a child with him that he takes into the mountain. Later, he fetches her into the mountain as well, there she gets a magical drink that makes her forget her previous human life.
Variants of this song exist in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Faroese islands, Iceland and Scotland.
