Heavy rainfall has disrupted traffic movement on the Old Samba–Kathua Road in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district after a portion of the route was damaged. Visuals from the affected area show the road surface washed away or breached, making the stretch unsafe for normal vehicular movement.
Local updates indicate that the damage occurred near the Sahar Khad–Sherpur area following intense rainfall and a flood-like situation. Traffic movement has been diverted or restricted as a precaution, while commuters have been advised to avoid the damaged route and follow instructions issued by the local administration and traffic authorities.
The Old Samba–Kathua Road is an important link for residents of several nearby villages. Reports suggest that damage to the stretch has affected local connectivity and created difficulties for commuters travelling between Samba and Kathua.
