Trotz hartnäckiger Entzündungen der Nebenhöhlen, welche mich leider für einige Wochen arg geplagt haben, habe ich dennoch das eine oder andere Projekt ordentlich vorangebracht und auch der Besuch von zwei Ausstellungen war mir vergönnt. Man muss immer das Beste aus der Situation machen! Nun hoffe ich, dass es gesundheitlich endlich und dauerhaft aufwärts geht für mich.
Modellbauerisch habe ich mich mit einer kleinen Fw 190 für ein 9-Stunden "Speed-Build" Projekt befasst, was eine interessante Erfahrung war, die mehr Lust auf Flugzeugmodelle macht. Außerdem ist auch meine kreidezeitliche Szene mit dem Dromaeosaurus und dem Alphadon fertig geworden, was mich ebenfalls zu weiteren Projekten dieser Art antreibt. Mit den übrigen Projekte bin ich, bis auf das Eisenbahngeschütz natürlich, ebenfalls vorangekommen.
Als sehr angenehm habe ich meinen Besuch der 34. Modellbau-Ausstellung des PMC Main-Kinzig empfunden. Ich war zum ersten mal dort und war sehr von der angenehmen Atmosphäre und den hochkarätigen Modellen beeindruckt. Außerdem bot sich viel Zeit für das eine oder andere tolle Gespräch und bei den Händlern konnte man auch gut fündig werden.
Weiterhin bin ich nach einem Jahr Pause wieder zur Modellbaumesse nach Ried in Österreich gefahren. Auch hierüber lässt sich nur positives berichten. Trotz eines Wechsels bei der Organisation der Veranstaltung lief alles glatt wie immer und ich würde sogar sagen, dass manches tatsächlich noch besser war als sonst. Es bleiben keine Tische leer und der Platz wurde insgesamt besser ausgenutzt, sodass einige zusätzliche Aussteller noch gut in den Hallen Platz fanden. So kam ich in den Genuss dort bedeutend mehr Modelle vorzufinden als bei den früheren Ausgaben der Messe. Das freut mich und ich hoffe auch, dass man diesem Konzept auch in Zukunft weiterhin treu bleibt.
Der Herbst ist da und der Winter steht vor der Tür, womit nun die Modellbau-Hauptsaison beginnt. Ich hoffe ihr bekommt reichlich Gelegenheit eurem Lieblingshobby ausgiebig zu frönen!

Despite a persistent inflammation of my sinuses, which tortured me a lot for several weeks, i was still able to make good progress on some of my projects and i even had the pleasure to visit two model shows. One has to make the best out of every situation! However, i really hope that my health will improve and remain stable from now on.
On the bench i dealt with a small Fw 190 for the 9 hour "speed build" project, which was an interesting experience and certainly gave me a lot of confidence to build more aircraft models. Apart from that i also completed my Cretaceous scenery with a Dromaeosaur and an Alphadon, which is also motivating me do more projects of this kind in the future. All the other projects, with the exception of the railway gun, made good progress, too.
My visit of the 34th Model Exhibition of the PMC Main-Kinzig Club was a very pleasant experience. I was there for the first time and was impressed by the good atmosphere and the high quality of the models on display. In addition to that there was plenty of time for nice conversations and the vendors had a few neat things to offer, too.
Furthermore i went to the Model Expo in Ried in Austria again after having taken a break from it last year. I can also only report positive things about that event, too. Despite a change in the organisation team everything went as smooth as ever and i would even say that a few aspects were even better than in previous editions. No tables were left empty and overall the space inside the halls was used more effectively, which allowed a few additional exhibitors to attend the show. This meant that i had the pleasure to see even more built models on display there than usual. It was great and i really hope that the concept of the expo will remain the same in the future.
Now the autumn season is here and the winter is approaching, which signals the start of the main scale modelling season. I hope you get plenty of opportunities to enjoy your favourite hobby in the coming months!
