Der 3D-Druck hat mit erstaunlicher Rasanz im Modellbau Einzug gehalten. Dabei bietet nicht nur ein heimischer Drucker viele neue Möglichkeiten, sondern auch der Zubehörmarkt hat reagiert. Ergänzend zu den üblichen Zurüstteilen und Figuren aus Resin gibt es auch zunehmend viel fertig gedrucktes zu kaufen, Figuren bilden da keine Ausnahme.
Meine früheren Erfahrungen mit 3D gedruckten Figuren haben mich mehrheitlich nicht sonderlich beeindruckt, aber die Technik schreitet stetig voran. Mittlerweile ist viel möglich und das weckt meine Neugier, daher habe ich mir einige 3D gedruckte Figuren in den letzten Monaten zugelegt. Eine davon schauen wir uns in diesem Video näher an.
Blacksnake Model aus Frankreich hat viele Figuren zu bieten, die für mich von großem Interesse sind, allen voran natürlich diverse ukrainische Soldaten. Für diese Bausatzbesprechung habe ich mir den Omega Operator ausgesucht.
Die Figur besteht aus vier Bauteilen, welche zu Anfangs noch von der typischen Stützstruktur eingerahmt sind. Zu meiner Freude war das Auslösen und Versäubern der Teile nicht sehr aufwändig, da die Kontaktpunkte der Stützstruktur zwar zahlreich sind, aber dafür sehr geschickt gewählt wurden. So bleiben nirgends lästige "Pockenmarken" zurück. Die Montage ist ebenfalls sehr einfach und erfordert hinterher keinerlei Nacharbeit. Das macht Freude!
Das Highlight sind natürlich die enorm feinen Details der Ausrüstung, die sich so mit anderen Materialien im Modellbau nicht ohne weiteres herstellen lassen. Die Antenne des Walkie-Talkie oder das Mikrophon sind vollkommen maßstäblich wiedergegeben. Das macht Eindruck. Auch die Ausrüstung und der Faltenwurf der Uniform wirken überzeugend, daran sind andere 3D gedruckte Figuren in meinen Augen oft gescheitert. Sie sahen einfach zu steril oder künstlich aus. Bei Blacksnake hat man in diesem Punkt eine gute Balance gefunden.
Für einen Preis von 15€ bekommt man hier eine wirklich sehr detailierte Figur und ich bin gespannt, wohin die Reise im 3D Druck noch führt!

3D printing has pathed its way into scale modelling at a very rapid pace. Not only the 3D printer you can have at home offers countless possibilities, the aftermarket section of the hobby has also reacted. In addition to the usual aftermarket parts and figures made out of resin there is an increasing number of 3D printed accessory available and figures are no exception here.
My earlier experience with 3D printed figures has overall not impressed me in a particular way, but this technology is advancing fast. Nowadays a lot is possible and this made me curious, so i bought me a couple of 3D printed figures over the past few months. We take a closer look at one of them in this video.
The French brand Blacksnake Model offers a lot of figures that are of particular interest to me, first and foremost various Ukrainian soldiers. For this kit review video i have picked the Omega Operator.
The figure consists of four parts, which arrive still framed by the typical support structures. I discovered to my great joy that cutting and cleaning up the parts is not as tedious as it seems, since the connection points between the supports and the parts are numerous, but arranged in very clever ways. Therefore we are not left with any of these annoying "pox marks" on the surface. Assembling the parts is also very simple and no touch ups are required at all. Pure joy!
The highlights are of course the extremely fine details on the gear, which are nearly impossible to recreate in a similar way with other materials. The antenna of the walkie-talkie or the microphone are pretty much in perfect scale thickness. That is indeed impressive. The creases on the gear and uniform look also convincing to me, in my opinion this is something a lot of other 3D printed figures have failed to achieve in the past. They often looked very sterile or artificial. Blacksnake seems to have found a good balance here.
For a price tag of about 15€ one gets a highly detailed figure and i am looking forward to seeing where the further development of 3D printing will lead us!
