JUST 100KM LEFT ON THE CAMINO DE SANTIAGO! 🇪🇸
After hundreds of miles of walking across Spain, I've finally reached one of the BIGGEST milestones of my entire Camino de Santiago adventure ;the 100KM marker!
I can hardly believe it! Santiago de Compostela is getting closer, and after everything I've experienced on this incredible 500-mile journey, the finish line is finally starting to feel real!
Welcome to Episode 13 of my Camino de Santiago adventure!
THE FINAL 100KM!
When I started walking in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, France, Santiago seemed SO far away. There were mountains to climb, endless trails to follow, new friendships to make, and challenges I never could have anticipated.
And what a journey it's been!
I've walked through beautiful Spanish villages, experienced incredible hospitality, met pilgrims from around the world, and discovered just how much the Camino can challenge you physically, mentally, and emotionally.
There have been unforgettable highs and some pretty difficult lows.
-Walking through some of the worst rain I've ever experienced.
-Dealing with painful blisters that made every step a challenge.
-Leaving a stone representing my burdens at the Cruz de Fierro (Iron Cross), one of the most emotional experiences of my journey.
-Finding geocaches along the Camino and even hiding one for a fellow pilgrim to discover!
And now, after all of that, I'm standing beside the famous 100KM marker, knowing that Santiago de Compostela is just 100 kilometers (62 miles) away!
THE CAMINO IS ABOUT MORE THAN THE DESTINATION
One thing I've learned on this pilgrimage is that the Camino has a way of surprising you.
Sometimes it's the breathtaking scenery. Sometimes it's a conversation with another pilgrim. Sometimes it's the kindness of a complete stranger.
And sometimes it's simply realizing how far you've come.
As I continue walking through the beautiful countryside of Galicia, I'm reminded that every single step has been part of something much bigger than just reaching Santiago.
THE CAMINO FRANCÉS
I'm walking the Camino Francés, the famous pilgrimage route that stretches roughly 500 miles (800 kilometers) from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port in France to Santiago de Compostela in Spain.
The final 100 kilometers are an especially meaningful stretch of the Camino, with pilgrims from around the world making their way toward the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
